Mbappe posted a video where he announced he will leave PSG

Kylian Mbappe, a forward for Paris Saint-Germain, stated on Friday that he will be leaving the team at the end of the current campaign. His contract expires next month. That announcement, though, caught the Capital Club off guard.

Over the course of a three-minute video, the 25-year-old revealed his leaving plans. He gave thanks, said he was sorry for his mistakes, declared his love for the team, and said he was leaving for a new challenge.

Although the choice to break the news in this way has drawn criticism, PSG was unable to take any action as they were unaware that the player had chosen to post the video.

According to L’Equipe, PSG was not made aware of Mbappé’s Friday video release. They found out “at the same time as everyone else,” which is even worse.

It’s been widely reported that the 2018 FIFA World Cup champion is planning on joining Real Madrid, even though he hasn’t revealed where he will be playing next season. Following the conclusion of the UEFA Champions League final, the Frenchman will probably be revealed as the team’s newest recruit.

PSG will start looking for a replacement for their soon-to-be former superstar player in the interim.

After making waves with Monaco in 2017, Mbappé was on the verge of signing a contract with Real Madrid. However, he ultimately decided to stay with PSG after the team offered him a record-breaking €180 million deal.

Following his rise to prominence as PSG’s club captain and all-time leading scorer with 255 goals, Mbappé won six Ligue 1 championships in seven seasons.

On the international front, he helped France win the World Cup in 2018 and then, four years later, against Argentina in the World Cup final, he scored a hat trick.

Following the release of the video, Mbappé and his family visited the Parc des Princes, where he gathered the Ultras of the team for their season-ending BBQ and expressed gratitude to them for their support.
