Carlos Tevez picks his side on Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi debate

Tevez has played with both Messi and Ronaldo during his playing career.

Former Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez has provided insight into the difference between the two greatest football players Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Tevez who had a chance to play with both stars has shared his thoughts on what makes both the players different from each other.

The Argentine has played with both players, during his time at Man Utd, Tevez played with Ronaldo while at the national team, he shared the pitch with Messi.

During their prime years, both Messi and Ronaldo dominated football and would compete with each other for individual prizes while also leading their respective sides to trophies.

However, now both star players are not playing in Europe anymore, Ronaldo is representing Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr while Messi is playing for Major League Soccer side Inter Miami.

Considering both players’ talent and how much they achieved throughout their playing careers, Tevez has outlined the difference between Messi and Ronaldo, Speaking to ESPN he said:

”Cristiano is totally different to Messi. When Leo was starting out, he didn’t touch a gym. But Cristiano was there in the morning, afternoon and evening, all the time. Cristiano had to work and prepare himself to be the best, while for Leo it comes naturally,” said Tevez.

“Those are the greatest differences that I see between the two best players on the planet. Messi plays another sport. For Messi to score three goals [in any given game] is normal.”

Messi is currently enjoying his twilight career with Inter Miami where he has led them to the Leagues Cup and MLS Supporters Shield. He is now hoping to win the MLS Cup as his side currently competing in the play-off of the tournament.

Messi has changed the trajectory of Inter Miami and the quality he has brought which has turned them into the most competitive side in all the competitions.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo has only been able to win the Arab Club Champions Cup with Al-Nassr, though the former Real Madrid star will hope to win something significant with them such as league or AFC Champions League.
