PSG star Achraf Hakimi under investigation for alleged rape: Report

The allegation was reported back in February 2023.

In a stunning development, French prosecutors have formally requested that criminal procedures be pursued against PSG and Morocco international defender Achraf Hakimi, who could be sentenced to up to 15 years in jail if prosecuted and found guilty of rape.

Since the investigating judge has the last say over whether to proceed with a trial, the case—which is based on an accusation made in early 2023—is now entering a crucial stage.

Le Parisien claims that the office of the prosecutor in Nanterre has formally asked the Hauts-de-Seine district criminal tribunal to indict Hakimi.

After more than a year of research, the request was signed on August 1st. Although the action does not prove guilt, it does indicate that prosecutors think there is enough evidence to support a trial.

The investigating judge now has the authority to decide whether to indict, and she can accept or reject the prosecution’s suggestions.

The incident related to PSG star Achraf Hakimi goes back to February 2023

The case stems from an alleged incident that occurred at Hakimi’s home in the western Paris district of Boulogne-Billancourt on the evening of February 25, 2023. According to Le Parisien, the 24-year-old woman who is the victim filed what happened with the Nogent-sur-Marne authorities the next day.

According to the woman, she met Achraf Hakimi on Instagram in January 2023. The player arranged for a chauffeur to drive her to his house on the night of the incident.

She claimed that after entering the house, Hakimi started kissing her on the mouth and chest over her clothing without getting her permission. She said she tried to object, but Hakimi persisted in inappropriately touching her. Eventually, she was able to use her foot to shove him away and ran away.

She apparently texted a buddy for assistance in astonishment. Following the encounter, that friend subsequently attested to the police her narrative and emotional state.
