AFCON 2025: List of all nations qualified for competition

Morocco will host the AFCON 2025 competition.
With Mozambique securing the final berth after beating Guinea-Bissau 2-1 on Tuesday, the complete list of 24 countries scheduled to participate in the 2025 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) has been confirmed.
Morocco automatically qualifies as the host country for the eagerly awaited event, which is set to begin in December of next year.
A combination of established powerhouses and upcoming teams keen to establish themselves on the continental scene will compete for the trophy next year.
Several past champions, namely Senegal, Algeria, Egypt, and reigning champions Côte d’Ivoire, are joining Morocco. These countries’ impressive campaign results earned them their qualification.
South Africa, Nigeria, and Tunisia have also been guaranteed a spot for the competitions and will hope to challenge big sides when the event takes place next year.
In addition, countries like Gabon, Angola, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo have made their comebacks in the qualifiers, while Botswana’s return to the competition following long absences illustrates how competitive African football has become. Benin and Sudan also merited their spots on the last qualifying day.
Zambia, Mali, Zimbabwe, and Comoros all confirmed their places last week, rounding out a well-rounded field of established competitors and upcoming powers.
Known for their energetic performances in previous editions, Equatorial Guinea and Uganda will also compete in Morocco.
Tanzania and Mozambique have earned a gruelling spot in the finals, while Botswana are ending a 12-year break. The qualification procedure demonstrates how football is becoming more and more competitive throughout the continent.
Now that all 24 spots have been filled, excitement is growing for what looks to be an unforgettable competition.
