The SPL club are ready to sign the Egyptian star in the summer.
After admitting it was a “mistake” to acquire the Brazilian, Al-Hilal want Mohamed Salah of Liverpool to step into Neymar’s position as the team’s poster boy.
Since joining Al-Hilal from PSG in 2023 for an outrageous €90 million (£77.2m/$98.3m), Neymar has only made seven appearances. Due to his injury history, the Brazilian is anticipated to leave when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
AS claims that Al-Hilal have admitted that purchasing the Brazilian was a “mistake” and that they now want Mohamed Salah, the star of Liverpool, to replace Neymar as the team’s new star.
Salah, who is nearing the end of his Liverpool contract, has stated that talks on his future have not advanced. The Egyptian superstar has long been sought after in Saudi Arabia, and his present circumstances will raise hopes that he may eventually be lured to the Middle East.
Last season the Saudi clubs were ready to break the bank to sign the forward but Liverpool were reluctant to allow the player to leave. It is now appearing that he could leave for free.
In the meantime, Neymar has expressed interest in joining Inter Miami, where he could get reunited with former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, Lionel Messi, and Luis Suarez.
In 19 Premier League games so far this season, Salah has 18 goals and 13 assists. It surpasses the previous record established by Luis Suarez in 2013–14 for the most goal commitments by a player in their first 19 outings of a campaign in the competition.
With Salah, 32, leading the Reds’ trophy-chasing efforts this season, Liverpool supporters will be anxiously awaiting word on his future. The next game for Arne Slot’s team is on Saturday in the FA Cup against Accrington Stanley.
