Al-Nassr reach £44m agreement with Chelsea to sign Joao Felix: Report

The Portuguese attacker could end up pairing up with Cristiano Ronaldo at the Saudi club.
Al-Nassr have reached an agreement with Chelsea to buy Joao Felix for about £44 million. The 25-year-old Portuguese international Felix was previously in talks to rejoin his old team, SL Benfica.
After extending Cristiano Ronaldo’s deal and hiring seasoned Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus as their new manager, Al-Nassr have now made their move for Felix. They are trying their best to win the Saudi Pro League this time.

With an initial transfer cost of €30 million plus add-ons and a significant sell-on clause to reach Chelsea’s eventual valuation of €50 million, the player has been permitted to travel for a medical and join Al Nassr.
Additionally, the Blues received a £5 million payment after Felix’s loan transfer to AC Milan in February, when he made 19 appearances and scored three goals.
Felix was on the verge of returning to his boyhood club, Benfica, and they were ready for a homecoming. After spending the second half of 2024–25 on loan at AC Milan, the attacker has expressed a desire to leave Stamford Bridge this summer in order to put an end to his misery at Chelsea after just one season.
The Portugal international was valued by the Blues at €54 million (£46 million/$62 million), which is precisely what they paid Atletico Madrid the previous season.
Fabrizio Romano claims that Al-Nassr entered the contest and have managed to swoop in time before Benfica could bring their former player.
The Saudi powerhouses and Chelsea have now reached an agreement, and Felix’s representatives were also in contact with the club.
According to reports, Benfica president Rui Costa was keen to sign Felix in time for Saturday’s Eusebio Cup matchup against Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce, which the Portuguese team ultimately won 3-2. In order to provide supporters a symbolic reunion with the striker, he directly participated in negotiations with agent Jorge Mendes.
Felix will now join Ronaldo and the rest of the Al-Nassr team for Wednesday’s friendly match against Toulouse at the Untersberg-Arena in Grodig if the paperwork is done in time.
