Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr in talks with Jorge Jesus to become next head coach: Report

The Saudi club have parted ways with Stefano Pioli.
Following the decision to fire Stefano Pioli, the report claims that Jorge Jesus is one of the names at the top of Al-Nassr’s shortlist.
After confirming Stefano Pioli’s resignation this Wednesday (25), the Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr are looking for a new coach. Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus is in talks to take over. The report originates from Footmercato, which lists former Al Hilal manager Jorge Jesus as the Saudi board’s first choice at the moment.
The publication claims that the club have already begun discussions with the coach’s agency to determine whether a return to the nation is possible.
Jorge Jesus, the ideal candidate to take over Al-Nassr?
One of the finest managers, Jesus, has been without a club since leaving Al Hilal, specifically one of Al-Nassr’s fiercest rivals. With 34 straight wins while leading Al-Hilal, the Portuguese coach set a record for the most consecutive wins in football history.
Jorge Jesus is well-known in Brazil for his successful time with Flamengo, when he won the Libertadores and the Brasileirão in 2019, in addition to his accomplishments in Arab football.
Prior to the agreement with Carlo Ancelotti, his name was even being considered to take over the Brazilian national team.
Meanwhile, the Saudi Pro League team confirmed Stefano Pioli’s departure on Wednesday, ending his brief and unpleasant tenure as manager of Al Nassr.
Pioli, 59, is anticipated to take over at Fiorentina, a Serie A team he played for six seasons in the early 1990s and managed from 2017 to 2019.
After taking over as Nassr’s manager in September 2024, the Italian had a successful first few months, but as the season went on, the team’s performance declined.
The club said in a statement posted on their social media channels:
“Al Nassr Club Company informs that Mr Pioli and his staff are no more the acting coaching staff of the first team. We would like to thank Mr Pioli and his staff for their dedicated work during the past season.”
