Al-Shabab vs Al-Wehda Lineups, prediction, betting tips & odds

Will Odion Ighalo score against his former club?
Al-Shabab and Al-Wehda will face off this week in the Roshn Saudi League. The match is scheduled for this Thursday, the last day of the month on the 31st of October. These two teams are on opposite ends of the table in the league. While the hosts are fighting to break into the top three, Al-Wehda are basically on a downward spiral and heading towards relegation.
Al-Wehda have not won a single match out of their last five and are holding onto dear life just by a thread. The Fursan Mecca coach Josef Zinnbauer will surely have a lot to think about ahead of this clash against Shabab. Nothing they do seem to click at this point.
The Makkah-based team’s defence even sticks out like a sore thumb. Al-Wehda have conceded 21 goals this season, so far the highest out of all the teams in the league. Al-Shabab on the other hand have had no such worries to concern themselves with.
Out of their eight matches, the club have won five and lost three. They have held their own and are presently posing a challenge to the top Saudi clubs including the likes of Al Hilal, Al Ittihad and Al Nassr.
Kick-Off:
Thursday, 31st October, 8:20 PM IST
Location: Al-Shabab FC Stadium, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Form
Al-Shabab: W-W-L-L-W
Al-Wehda: L-L-D-D-L
Players to Watch:
Kim Seung-gyu (Al-Shabab)
Al-Shabab’s goalkeeper Kim Seung-gyu has been their saving grace this season. The South Korean has managed to keep four clean sheets. Courtesy of this they have the meanest defense in the Saudi league this year.
Kim would be leading the defence in their match against Al-Wehda. His passing skills and his reflexes have made him one of the most sought-after goalkeepers in Asia.
Odion Ighalo (Al-Wehda)
Odion Ighalo can very well prove to be Al-Wehda’s messiah against his former club. The Nigerian international brings in his vast experience of playing in top leagues around the globe. Despite his finishing prowess, Ighalo has always been highly underrated.
Ighalo’s golden run was at Watford where his pairing with Troy Deeney made the club a top contender. He scored 34 goals for Watford during that period. His greatest run however was saved for Saudi Arabia, where he has found the back of the net at regular intervals for clubs like Al-Shabab and Al-Hilal. So having him in the playing eleven could certainly work wonders on condition that the defence holds up.

Match prediction for Al-Shabab vs Al-Wehda
Al-Shabab are undoubtedly the favourite to win against a struggling Al-Wehda side. The latter are going through a really rough patch at the moment. As things stand, they will have to perform miraculously to earn their second victory in the league this season. The task at hand is not easy, it’s a do-or-die situation and as such drastic action is much needed.
