Alisson’s return from an injury remains unknown.

It is “difficult” to predict when goalkeeper Alisson Becker will return from injury, according to Liverpool head coach Arne Slot.

During the Reds’ 1-0 Champions League loss to Galatasaray on Tuesday, the Brazilian hurt his hamstring.

According to an external report in The Athletic, the 33-year-old will be sidelined for approximately six weeks, returning in mid-November following the international break.

Arne Slot provides Alisson’s return timeline from injury

Slot, however, was hesitant to assign a timeline for the goalkeeper’s recuperation after excluding Alisson Becker from Saturday’s trip to Chelsea.

“It depends on how fast his recovery goes,” said Arne Slot.

“So, Saturday it’s clear [he’s injured], he’s not going to play for Brazil and I would be surprised if he would be there in the first game after the international break.”

“But from there on, sometimes things can go a bit faster or a bit slower. It’s always difficult to say the amount of days and weeks, but for the upcoming games he will not be part of us or the Brazil team.”

In Alisson’s place at Stamford Bridge, Giorgi Mamardashvili, who cost £29 million to sign from Valencia last summer, is expected to start.

“We knew we were bringing in a very good goalkeeper. When he plays his first game, it’s the best way of seeing if he’s adjusted well or not… against Southampton [in the Carabao Cup], he adjusted really well.”

Despite their loss at Crystal Palace last weekend, Liverpool are still leading the Premier League.

The Reds are confident that winger Federico Chiesa and striker Hugo Ekitike will be ready to make the trip to Stamford Bridge, with both players scheduled for training on Friday.

When will Alisson return from a hamstring injury?

Slot hasn’t provided a return date for the goalkeeper, but reports state that he will be out for six weeks.

Will Chiesa and Ekitike play against Chelsea?

It remains to be seen. However, the duo will be training ahead of the game.

Who will replace Alisson?

Giorgi Mamardashvili is the most likely solution to replace the star in between the sticks.
