Nine Al Nassr players to have at the World Cup!
The 2026 FIFA World Cup, football’s most prestigious tournament, is in its final preparations for the grand spectacle. With only two weeks remaining for its inaugural match, the excitement for the tournament is increasing with each passing stage.
Co-hosted by the USA, Mexico and Canada, with it set to be the first World Cup to be hosted by three nations. It will also mark the return of the tournament to North America after 32 years. From big nations to competition debutants, the 2026 edition will be the largest to date, with a record 48 nations to participate, instead of 32.
The tournament is also highly regarded for its incentive programs for the football clubs. FIFA has brought significant upgradation to the Club Benefits Programme (CBP) for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Under this revised financial system, FIFA will distribute $355 million to clubs to ensure the availability of players for the World Cup. Every club is now estimated to make an estimated between $11,000 to $15,000 per player.
With this new structure, clubs from around the world are expected to receive payments, to encourage and foster the development of future talents. A club is now expected to receive a minimum estimated amount of $150,000 per player, even if the player’s side gets eliminated in the group stages.
Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Nassr will be one such club currently set to benefit from FIFA’s new structure. The side had an incredible season, managing to win the Saudi Pro League title for the first time since 2019. They were also the runners-up for the AFC Champions League Two and the Saudi Super Cup.

Al-Nassr will have an astonishing nine players from the side participating in the World Cup. Al-Nassr is the second-most represented side, only behind close rivals Al-Hilal. The Saudi Arabia national football team has called up the most players from the side, with manager Georgios Donis including six domestic talents in the final squad
Crisitinao Ronaldo, who has been one of the influential figures in world football, is set to appear in a recod sixth consecutive World Cup for Portugal, alongside teammate João Félix, who was voted as Saudi Pro League Player of the Season. Veteran Sadio Mané, who played a key role for the side this season, is set to lead Senegal in the tournament.
