With only four teams competing in the 2025–26 competition, some attention has shifted to the competition for the next season as teams compete for spots in the Champions League tournament.
Along with some of the best domestic champions from throughout the continent, Real Madrid, the most successful team in the league with 15 European crowns, is at the top of the standings.
Manchester United are now the 12th team to secure a spot in the Champions League for the upcoming season.
After Manchester City and Arsenal, they became the third English team to earn enough points to put them in the competition next season.
England has historically been given four Champions League spots. However, it possesses one of two Elite Performance Spots (EPS) for the upcoming season due to its performance in UEFA club competitions this season; the top five qualify for the Champions League next campaign.

29 of the 36 teams that will compete in the Champions League’s league phase will be selected before the season ends.
The remaining seven are all the result of qualification, which happens in the first few months of the 2026–2027 season.
