Antonio Conte agrees three-year deal to become next Napoli manager
The Italian has been without a job since March 2023
Reports are coming out of Italy that former Juventus and Inter Milan manager, Antonio Conte has agreed to become the next manager of Napoli.
Italian outlet Rai reported that the 54-year-old has agreed on a three-year deal to manage the club. According to Rai Sport’s transfer specialist Ciro Venerato on Friday evening’s edition of TG Sport, Conte is now ‘ready’ to sign for Napoli.
Friday’s report detailed that there is an agreement between the two parties over a three-year deal. Economic details have reportedly also been agreed upon, although the specifics have not yet been disclosed.
Other outlets, including Calcionapoli24, suggest that the figures could be somewhere in the region of €6.5m per season.
Venerato, in his Rai report, claimed that Aurelio De Laurentiis’s final approval is all that is missing before the agreement can be made official.
Napoli are already playing under their third manager in the current season. Luciano Spalletti’s departure was followed by the arrival of Rudi Garcia. Walter Mazzarri followed him and Francesco Calzona is the current manager of the club.

Initially, there were indications that Conte was hesitating to accept Napoli’s offer. However, the deadlock has now been broken, paving the way for a potential partnership. Napoli have endorsed this approach, with CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis agreeing not to intervene in football-related matters directly.
While negotiations with Conte progressed, Napoli had also considered alternative options. Vincenzo Italiano was put on standby, and other potential candidates included Stefano Pioli and Gian Piero Gasperini. However, it appears that Napoli’s focus has shifted firmly towards finalizing a deal with Conte.
Conte has been without a job since explosively leaving Tottenham in the second half of the 2022-23 Premier League season. He has also managed the likes of Juventus, Inter Milan, Atalanta, Chelsea and a few other clubs. As a manager, Conte has won the Serie A four times.
