Lionel Messi's Argentina match in India rescheduled due to contract issue

The South American team have postponed their November game in Kerala.
Argentina are yet to find their second opponent in the November international friendly games. They are now left with only one opponent and will need to find out second national team to play against before November.
The AFA chose to withdraw their plans for Lionel Scaloni’s team to fly to India to play a game. Therefore, they have only one game on their schedule: they will play the Angolan national team at Luanda, the country’s capital, at the 11 de Noviembre Stadium.
La Albiceleste left with only one opponent for the November international break

According to sources, “there is a possibility” that Argentina would play two separate national teams in their upcoming friendlies in Angola. Naturally, the objective is to develop players to increase the number of possible call-ups for upcoming games.
“The idea is to find an opponent near Angola, or have another national team travel and play both matches in Angola.”
Morocco, the first African country to qualify for the 2026 World Cup and ranked eleventh in the current FIFA rankings, are one of the options for that match. If confirmed, it would rank as the top opponent (in friendlies) since the World Cup in 2022.
AFA sources reveal cancellation of the game in Kerala & its reschedule
“Unfortunately, there were repeated breaches by India, and what we’re going to do is reorganize the contract to find a new date,” AFA sources told LA NACION in response to a query.
They continued: “We did everything possible to make it happen in November; a delegation even traveled to India to see the field, the hotel, but ultimately, India couldn’t meet the requirements.”
“So we’ll possibly go in March for that single match, after the Finalissima,” they said. “This, of course, is if the match against Spain actually takes place on that date, which has yet to be confirmed.”
The South American giants will next face Spain in the Finalissima in March (UEFA wants it to be at Lusail, the stadium in Qatar where Lionel Messi won the World Cup), and then they will hopefully play in India to fulfil the contract that the AFA is currently thinking about “reorganising.”
Additionally, Scaloni’s team will play two practice matches against Mexico and Honduras in the United States before the 2026 World Cup; however, neither date nor location has been announced.
