La Albiceleste have already qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Argentina have confirmed their squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with Lionel Messi named in the roster. Many other changes have also been made in the team.
La Albiceleste are currently top of the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifier standings and are 10 points ahead of second-place Ecuador, having already qualified for the 2026 tournament.

Because of an ankle injury, Facundo Medina was unable to play for Olympique Marseille against Paris FC. Although he did not make the final roster, he was a member of Argentina’s preliminary national team for the World Cup qualifying matches against Ecuador and Venezuela.
Although he was included in the preliminary squad, Tigres UANL’s Ángel Correa did not make the final squad. On September 4, Argentina will play Venezuela, and Lionel Messi has hinted that it might be his final national team game in Argentina.
The next team they will play are Ecuador on September 9. 29 players have been selected to play in the World Cup qualifying matches.
