Argentina are eyeing their 16th title, whilst Colombia are eyeing their 2nd title.

Raphael Claus will officiate the Copa America final early on Monday morning. A few years ago, Claus and Lionel Messi got into a furious altercation.

Since 2015, Claus has served as a senior international referee and is recognised as one of the best officials on the continent. At the 2022 World Cup, the 44-year-old managed two group-stage matches, including England’s opening decisive victory over Iran in Qatar. Earlier in the competition, he supervised the group-stage match between Venezuela and Mexico without any problems.

With goals from eight-time Ballon d’Or champion and Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez either side of halftime, Argentina secured their final spot with a convincing 2-0 victory over Canada.

In their five tournament games thus far, the world champions have only let up one goal: an added-time equaliser by Ecuador in the quarterfinal, which the Albiceleste ultimately prevailed on penalties.
