Argentina vs Colombia: Key numbers you should know ahead of Copa America 2024 final

La Albiceleste will play their sixth final in the last eight appearances at major international competitions.
The final of Copa America 2024 is now upon us. Two South American giants Argentina and Colombia will face each other in Miami, which could be Lionel Messi’s last match in national jersey colours.
Messi and La Albiceleste, who are presently tied with Uruguay on 15, will be vying for an unprecedented 16th Copa America title at the Hard Rock Stadium. They would also be winning consecutively after defeating longtime rivals Brazil in the 2021 championship game.
But perhaps the most remarkable team in the competition, Colombia stands in their way.
Argentina, who had a 30.8% probability of winning the Copa America at the start of the event, defeated Canada 2-0 to advance to Sunday’s championship game. Captain Messi and Julián Álvarez both scored for Lionel Scaloni’s side.
On Sunday, we might see the end of an era as Messi is rumoured to be thinking about retiring from international play following the game against Colombia.
Even if many Americans are eager for Messi to carry on with his spectacular Argentina career till the 2026 World Cup, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner stated this week that he is engaged in his “final battles” on the global scene.
