Both players were withdrawn with respective injuries against Leeds.
Arsenal fans can take a breath of relief after their two star players, Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard, have not suffered any major injury that could have ruled them out for a longer period of time, reports suggest.
Both players were replaced in Arsenal’s 5-0 win against Leeds United. Martin Odegaard was taken off with a shoulder injury, while Saka had come off with a suspected hamstring injury.
Odegaard to return soon after injury scare
However, the sources now confirm that neither of them is sidelined for a substantial period. Following the game, Mikel Arteta shed some light on Saka’s injury and revealed that he has suffered a significant blow to his hamstring.
The England international’s previous injury ruled him out for four months after he picked up a hamstring injury. However, an injury he sustained on Saturday is not on the same leg, which provides a big relief to the manager and fans.
Saka ruled out for four weeks with an injury
The 23-year-old is expected to miss up to four weeks of action due to a hamstring injury sustained during Saturday’s home victory over Leeds United.
Bukayo Saka is set to miss Arsenal’s match against Liverpool on Sunday. He will also miss England’s World Cup qualifying matches against Serbia and Andorra the following month.
Arsenal injury update
The north Londoners have already been hit with a major injury setback after striker Kai Havertz picked up a knee injury, but the club was quick to find his replacement when they signed Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.
Besides, Havertz, Christian Norgaard and Gabriel Jesus also missed the match against Leeds due to injury.
Arsenal’s injury woes have affected their momentum after the club missed Bukayo Saka’s presence last season, as he was ruled out for much of the second part of the campaign.
Moreover, Havertz and Gabriel Jesus were also among the players who were sidelined previous campaign, and now Arteta will be desperate to avoid the same situation if the club is to mount a serious title charge this season.
It now remains to be seen if Saka and Odegaard will be fit to play in their next league game. Their availability will be important for Arteta, as they will travel to Anfield to face Liverpool.
