The Gunners will be without key stars tonight.
Arsenal’s European campaign has started to take a turn for the worse as they prepare to play Club Brugge tonight. Three senior players will not play tonight’s UEFA Champions League match against Club Brugge, according to the recent injury update, confirming a major triple setback.
William Saliba, Declan Rice, and Leandro Trossard did not travel. They were not present for training on Tuesday afternoon ahead of the UCL game.
While Trossard is still dealing with the calf issue that initially appeared against Bayern Munich two weeks ago, Rice’s absence is due to illness.
The forward Trossard was unable to finish the game at Villa Park on Saturday despite coming off the bench, highlighting the seriousness of the problem.
Perhaps the most disturbing is Saliba’s absence. Despite earlier optimism about a possible return, the defender has not played since taking a knock during training on November 29 and is still sidelined. A back line that has already been taxed during the 2025-26 campaign is further strained by his ongoing unavailability.
Mikel Arteta issues injury update on Arsenal trio

On Tuesday night, Mikel Arteta clarified the issue by outlining the choices that led to the travelling squad.
“Declan was ill. He was quite sick after the game [against Aston Villa] already and he hasn’t travelled with us,” said Arteta on Tuesday night.
“William is still not available and Leo, again, picked up another knock in an area where he had the previous issue. I don’t expect that it is going to be long, but unfortunately he cannot be with us [in Brugge].”
This trio adds to a long list of players out with injuries, which certainly will put Arsenal’s depth to the test. Kai Havertz, Gabriel, and Cristhian Mosquera are all expected to miss the match against Club Brugge. Young midfielder Max Dowman will be sidelined for a brief period of time due to an ankle injury he sustained last weekend.
How long will William Saliba be out with an injury?
Saliba’s return remains uncertain.
How long will Declan Rice be out with an injury?
Arteta hasn’t revealed when the midfielders will return.
Where do Arsenal stand in the Champions League?
They are first in the table.
