The Gunners will continue their title charge this weekend.
Mikel Merino and Jurrien Timber have āno chanceā of playing against West Ham United this weekend, according to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
Although itās unknown when the Gunners pair will return, Arteta did at least affirm that they havenāt sustained any new ailments. Both players have been sidelined for several weeks.
The announcement that Jurrien Timber would not play again this season has dealt a serious blow to Arsenalās hopes of winning the Premier League. The Dutch defender has been sidelined for almost two months, and the team had no idea how complicated his recuperation process would be.
When questioned about Timberās potential comeback before the seasonās last whistle, the Arsenal manager did not sugarcoat the issue. The full-back will not travel with Arsenal to West Ham on Sunday, and Arteta is not sure if Timber will play this season.
Arteta issues worrying injury updates on the Gunners duo

The manager emphasised that Timber may not prevail in the current race against time in the recovery process. Speaking on Merino and Timber, he said:
āNo chance for them this weekend.ā
When asked if either will play again this season, he replied: āI donāt know there is still a fair bit to do. Everything needs to be so smooth and quick.ā
Timber has missed Arsenalās previous 11 games after suffering an ankle injury in the teamās 2-0 victory over Everton in March. Meanwhile, Merino has been sidelined since hurting his foot in the 3-2 loss to Manchester United in January.
In an attempt to grasp the Premier League trophy, the Gunners travel to West Ham. Artetaās team could virtually guarantee their first top-flight championship in 22 years if they visit the London Stadium and win all three points. It sure depends on the outcome of Manchester Cityās match against Brentford on Saturday.
