The Gunners are set to be without many key players against Leeds.

Mikel Arteta spoke to the media and revealed Arsenal’s current injury status as the club were dealt a new injury blow after Kai Havertz sustained a knee injury.

Since Arsenal’s victory over Manchester United last Sunday, Havertz has been sidelined due to knee soreness.

Following Havertz’s injury, the Gunners have taken steps to strengthen their roster and are nearing an agreement to acquire Crystal Palace player Eberechi Eze.

Kai Havertz update

In advance of Arsenal’s first home game of the season against Leeds on Saturday, Arteta provided an update on Havertz.

“I don’t want to talk about the specifics, but he is not fit. We need to explore that and then decide what we’re going to do.”

Ben White is doubtful after he was substituted against Manchester United and missed the open training session earlier in the week. Arteta also stated that summer acquisition Christian Norgaard will not play against Leeds.

“Christian Norgaard will be sidelined for another week. Ben (White), let’s see.”

Updates on Jurrien Timber and Gabriel Jesus

Arteta has stated that the team is “managing his (Jurrien Timber) load” in the wake of ankle surgery in the summer. Jurrien Timber participated in the early portion of Wednesday’s session but did not play in the final training match.

He further spoke about Gabriel Jesus’s current recovery status after the Brazilian suffered an ACL injury last season, and said:

”With Jurrien, we have to manage his load because he has been out for a long time… and we have decided to take his training down. Gabriel is doing super well. He looks in a really good place. Obviously, it is a massive injury, and he needs to come back in a really strong way, but he is certainly in the right place.”

What injury did Havertz suffer?

He sustained a knee injury.

How long will he be out?

He could be out for about three months.

What about other injury updates?
