The Gunners will be without two key midfielders

Arsenal have been blighted with many injuries going into North London derby. The Gunners have suffered some key injuries ahead of their clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

The recent player added to their injury list has been Martin Ødegaard who picked up ankle aliment and has a high chance of missing the game against Spurs.

The north Londoners have picked seven points in the last three Premier League games and are in fourth place, while Liverpool and Manchester are level on nine points.

But their next clash is set to be a real test as they could miss the likes of key players and not having Ødegaard for this game will certainly affect their performance. However, it is yet to be revealed the extent of the Norwegian injury and Mikel Arteta will hope to have him before the game on Sunday.

Riccardo Calafiori suffered an injury during Italy’s game against France and it was expected he could be fit for their next match but the player since returned to London and it remains to be seen if he will be ready to face the Spurs.

Gunners new signing Mikel Merino injured his shoulder during his first practice at Arsenal training ground and seems to have broken his shoulder and is understood to be out for a long period of time. His return is expected to be against Bournemouth on October 19.

To make things worse, Captain Ødegaard has now picked up an injury during the game against Austria and was replaced in the second half as he couldn’t stand on his feet. Now it is yet to be confirmed the severity of the injury and if he will be available for the Spurs game.

Another key player who will be absent from the Tottenham game is Declan Rice, the midfielder was shown a red card in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw against Brighton.

One of the positive news for Arsenal is that Gabriel Jesus could be available for the Spurs game after he suffered a muscle injury. Meanwhile, Kieran Tierney is sidelined for the game with a hamstring injury and his return remains unknown.
