Plenty of Arsenal players have left their national squad due to injuries.

Martin Zubimendi became the 11th Arsenal player to withdraw from his respective national team squad during the ongoing March international break.

Zubimendi has been withdrawn from the national team camp, according to Spain, because of inflammation in his right knee.

Spain have confirmed that they sent him back to prevent any risk and to safeguard the player’s health; the withdrawal appears to be primarily preventative.

Zubimendi is the 11th Arsenal player to withdraw from the international games, according to the statement. It also states that Arsenal’s medical department has been notified.

Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke, and Eberechi Eze from England, Piero Hincapie from Ecuador, William Saliba from France, Gabriel Magalhaes from Brazil, Leandro Trossard from Belgium, Martin Odegaard from Norway and Jurrien Timber from the Netherlands were the other 10 players who withdrew.

Unless there are any major injury setbacks in the next several days, it appears doubtful that there will be any more withdrawals.

Other Gunners’ players who are still on international duty

Gabriel Martinelli (Brazil), Ben White (England), Kai Havertz (Germany), David Raya, and Cristhian Mosquera (Spain) are still playing for their countries in March friendlies.

All five are likely eager to do everything in their power to create an impression ahead of this summer’s World Cup competition.

Then, there’s very little chance that any of them will withdraw unless absolutely necessary. Meanwhile, Viktor Gyokeres (Sweden), Christian Norgaard (Denmark), Riccardo Calafiori (Italy), and Jakub Kiwior (Poland) are all playing in crucial World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday.
