Arsenal predicted lineup for Premier League 2024-25 season

Mikel Arteta’s men once again will be chasing the league title.

But chasing down Manchester City requires a level of perfection that was just out of reach for Mikel Arteta’s side. The Arsenal squad for the 2024/25 season is locked and loaded for the new term, as Mikel Arteta’s men stand on the precipice of greatness.

Arsenal are set to field an exciting new lineup for the 2024/25 Premier League season. Here’s a look at how Mikel Arteta might deploy his squad as the Gunners aim to challenge for top honours:

Arsenal Predicted Lineup (Formation: 4-3-3):

Goalkeeper: David Raya

A sweeper-keeper, Raya is known as a vocal keeper who is very well adept with the ball at his feet. He can play out from the back and is happy covering the space in behind which allows the team to play with a high line. Following a loan spell from Brentford last season, the North London side signed him on a permanent deal earlier in the transfer window. Mikel Arteta trusts him a lot and fans can expect him to perform very well in this season as well.

Right Back: Ben White

He is a versatile and consistent player, operating primarily as a right-back. His ability to read the game and support the attack has been crucial. Last season he performed well.

The coaching staff and fans will expect the same from him this season as well. His performance will be very crucial for Arsenal‘s defence this season for sure.

Center Back: William Saliba

William Saliba stands out more for his reading of the game and his game intelligence. He is a proactive defender who likes to step out of defence. Saliba is clever in the way he positions himself to use his body to manoeuvre opponents away from play to steal the ball. His calmness under pressure and his ability to win one-on-one duels with the opposition forwards is something to behold.

Center Back: Gabriel Magalhaes

Gabriel Magalhaes is a very mobile player. He may not win against some of the speedsters but he is more than capable of keeping pace in short bursts. His large frame and athleticism also enable him to make tackles.

As a defender he takes an aggressive approach to his defensive duties by pressing attackers backwards, offering them little time on the ball. Moreover, his stature complements this style to perfection.

Left Back: Riccardo Calafiori

New signing Riccardo Calafiori is expected to play in the left-back position. He brings a blend of defensive solidity and attacking flair. He can contribute defensively and offensively as well.

Calafiori’s crossing ability and pace down the left flank will add a new dimension to Arsenal’s attack in the Premier League. He is really good in one-on-one situations and can slow down the attacker on the flank and force the player to play backwards. He will surely give his all to impress Mikel Arteta.

Central Midfield: Thomas Partey

Thomas Partey has good positional awareness and shows impressive intuition about when to move out to press, when to hold his position and when to cover for others. The defensive awareness and ball-winning ability may be one of his greatest strengths. Partey provides his team with useful press resistance in the midfield. Other than him Jorginho can play in this position as both players will compete to get an opportunity in the starting lineup.

Central Midfield: Declan Rice

Arsenal’s record signing from last summer, Declan Rice has been pivotal in protecting the back four and orchestrating play from deep. His ability to break up opposition attacks and transition play quickly has made him indispensable in the club midfield. His leadership qualities and experience will be crucial as Arsenal push for trophies this season. This season as well fans can expect him to perform with the same consistency as last season.

Central Attacking Midfield: Martin Odegaard

Martin Odegaard will continue to be the creative hub for the team, he is good at dictating play with his vision and passing. His ability to link midfield and attack, combined with his work rate makes him one of the most important players in Arteta’s system. His constant movements across the attacking third maintain both the intensity of his game and the momentum of his team’s attack. This season as well he will look to score as many goals as he can and provide as many assists as he can.

Right Wing: Bukayo Saka

Arsenal star boy will continue to terrorize defences from the right wing. His dribbling, pace and ability to cut inside and shoot make him a constant threat. Saka will look to perform better than the last season to give his best to help his team become champions. Fresh off the back of performances that led England to the Euro 2024 final, the young star will be keen to take his club to new heights in the 2024/25 season.

Striker: Kai Havertz

Leading the line, Kai Havertz will continue to be Arsenal’s focal point in attack. Last season he was quite often criticised due to his inconsistent performances but still managed to score goals and help the team. In the 2024/25 season, he will look to give his best.

His movement, linkup play and ability to press high make him a perfect fit for Arteta’s tactical setup. Fans can expect him to be much better than last season.

Left Wing: Gabriel Martinelli

Gabriel Martinelli’s pace and directness make him a key weapon on the left wing. His work rate and pressing from the front also align perfectly with Arteta’s high-intensity style of play. Martinelli’s agile movement, acceleration and speed make him a very dangerous attacking player. He can very easily dribble past multiple players to create or score goals. He will have to push himself this season to score more goals to help his team.
