The Gunners are looking to sign a striker to replace Gabriel Jesus.

Benjamin Sesko, a striker for RB Leipzig, is being courted by Arsenal, who are keen to sign the striker with an option to buy in the summer.

In recent years, Sesko has been frequently connected to high-profile transfers, and with Arsenal needing a new centre-forward things could finally materialise. While players like Kai Havertz have had difficulty playing consistently in front of goal, Gabriel Jesus was recently sidelined due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Arsenal’s offensive performance do seem to be suffering, while Bukayo Saka is also presently undergoing treatment. Although it’s never possible for clubs to get players at lesser sums in January, the Gunners may have to make the sacrifice.

Sam C reported that Arsenal are now in negotiations to sign Sesko, a striker for RB Leipzig. Leipzig are aiming for cash up front or an obligation, while the Gunners are reportedly looking for a loan with a buyout option.

“EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal are in talks with RB Leipzig for Benjamin Sesko. Told Arsenal want a loan with buy option, Leipzig want money upfront or an obligation. Understand Arteta has spoken with Sesko on more than one occasion,” Sam C used X (formerly Twitter) to share the message.

Havertz is the sole viable option in the middle of attack, thus signing a striker could be a top priority this month following Jesus’ injury update. Although it’s not their natural position, players like Raheem Sterling, Leandro Trossard, and Gabriel Martinelli can play in a centre-forward role.

The ‘monster’ Sesko might be Mikel Arteta’s natural goal scorer. Arsenal will undoubtedly be desperate to bring someone in before the deadline in early February, but it will be intriguing to see whether they can negotiate a loan deal and buy him during the summer transfer window.

Sesko is 21 years old and still far from realizing his full potential, but he is already making a significant contribution. In addition to his 14 goals from the previous season, the Slovenian striker has scored eight goals in the Bundesliga this year. Sesko has scored three times in the Champions League.
