Ballon d'Or 2024 results 'leaked' online few hours ahead of ceremony

The ceremony is set to take place tonight
Social media was buzzing with speculations of a leaked list that revealed this year’s champion and top 12 standings just hours before the 2024 Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris.
According to the leaked standings, which were shared on X by a Portuguese-speaking writer, the top spot had 630 points, while the runners-up had 576 points.
The list predicts that Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior will win football’s most coveted individual honour, defeating Rodri of Manchester City in a close contest. Both fans and experts have had strong reactions to this purported disclosure.
If confirmed, Vinicius Junior would change the football landscape by becoming the third player in 16 years to win the award, behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Vinicius’s stats with Real Madrid made him difficult to ignore, even though Rodri of Manchester City had a fantastic season, leading both his team and Spain with crucial performances.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian influence on the field has been indisputable, contributing significantly to Real Madrid’s success with 21 goals and 11 assists in LaLiga and the Champions League. As a result, the Brazilian is already the clear favourite to win, and the leaks don’t reveal anything shocking.
Jude Bellingham, a Real Madrid player, is ranked third with 422 points, while Kylian Mbappe, another Los Blancos player, is ranked fourth, according to the purported leak.
Erling Haaland of Manchester City and Harry Kane of England are ranked fifth and sixth, respectively. The only other player to reach 100 points is Lamine Yamal of Barcelona, who completes the list.
Fans are currently waiting for the official announcement to see if the leaked list is accurate; some have already stated that Vinicius is a worthy winner because of his accomplishments this season.
Another leak shows Rodri winning the Ballon d’Or 2024
Another leaked photo on social media shows that Manchester City star Rodri will be handed the award tonight. But nothing is confirmed yet and fans will have to wait till the end of the ceremony to find out.
