Barbastro vs Barcelona Prediction, lineups, betting tips & odds
The LaLiga giants could prove to be too much to handle for the hosts.
FC Barcelona will travel to Huesca to lock horns against Barbastro in the Round of 32 of the Copa del Rey. Barca have failed to build upon their magical start to the season and have therefore fallen behind in the LaLiga title race with both the Madrid clubs taking charge at the top of the table. Injuries and inconsistency have played a huge part in Barca’s midseason downfall. Hansi Flick will be motivated to put everything behind his back and start 2025 in the best possible way and get things back on track.
Barbastro on the other hand belong to the Segunda Federación, the fourth tier of Spanish football. They have faced Barcelona before where they put together a wonderful fight, but ended up on the losing end. Known for their never-say-die attitude and giant-killing nature, Barbastro will not be an easy challenge for the Blaugrana. Moreover, they have already defeated LaLiga side Espanyol last month.
Kick Off
Saturday, January 4, 11:30 PM IST
Venue: Estadio Municipal
Form
Barbastro (in all competitions): W-D-W-W-L
Barcelona (in all competitions): L-L-W-D-W
Players to watch
Andrés Barrera Baigorri (Barbastro)
Andrés Barrera Baigorri has been one of the best Barbastro players this season. He primarily operates as a left wing-back for his side and contributes in both offence and defence. Baigorria is known for his solid goal-scoring instincts even though he plays in a defensive position.
He inspired Barbastro past Espanyol with a brace and has notched up seven goals and two assists so far this season. If Barbastro are to put up a strong fight against Barcelona, Baigorri will have to bring his A-game to the table.
Raphinha (Barcelona)
Raphinha will look to guide Barcelona to a dream start to 2025 with a win in the Copa del Rey. The Brazilian international is playing his best-ever season at the club and has been the driving force behind Hansi Flick’s side. The forward has consistently dropped in match-winning performances since the start of the season and has achieved double both in terms of goals and assists. Moreover, his ability to operate on either wing comes in as an added advantage for the Catalan giants.
