The star forward has returned to training with the ball.
Carlos Monfort of SPORT reports that Lamine Yamal has resumed using the ball for training. His recuperation is progressing nicely, and the coaching staff is optimistic that he will be ready for the next game against Real Sociedad.
The main goal, though, is to have him healthy enough for the match against PSG. Hansi Flick, the manager of Barcelona, recently provided an update on Yamal, who has been dealing with a groin issue.
On October 1, PSG will play Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League league phase fixture. Both teams are coming into the game with a lot of energy.
Despite missing Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele, the Ligue 1 team defeated Atalanta 4-0 to start the UCL 2025-26 season with two goals in each half. Meanwhile, Barcelona defeated Newcastle United 2-1, thanks to a brace from Marcus Rashford.
Barcelona hope to have Yamal back for the Sociedad game

Barcelona are under pressure to have as many players available for the highly anticipated UCL match as possible as Matchday 2 draws near.
Though they don’t want to rush him, Barcelona’s staff is happy with his recovery, so the outlook is positive. The primary objective is to have Yamal prepared for the Champions League matchup against PSG on October 1. He won’t be risked against Oviedo, but could play against Real Sociedad.
Balde returns to practice while Cubarsí is available for Oviedo’s game
Yamal’s recuperation was accompanied by positive defence news for Barça. For the first time since his setback, Alejandro Balde, who sustained a minor muscular injury earlier this month, practised with the team. His return is anticipated around the PSG game, even though he is not yet fit to participate.
Pau Cubarsí, who had a knee injury against Newcastle, has returned to group training and is anticipated to play against Oviedo.
The coaching team at Barcelona, under the direction of Hansi Flick, is methodically planning these comebacks with one important date in mind: October 1 against Paris Saint-Germain at Camp Nou. At that point, they anticipate that Yamal and Balde will be healthy and prepared for one of the season’s most important games.
Which game could Yamal play for Barcelona?
If he is fit enough, he could get some minutes against Real Sociedad. However, the club are preparing him to face PSG most importantly.
How long does a groin injury take to recover?
It depends on the extent of injury, and Yamal seems to have suffered a minor one.
When is the Barca vs PSG UCL match?
It’s on October 1.
