The Polish striker is set to be out for much longer.

Robert Lewandowski is anticipated to be out for four to six weeks due to a muscle tear in his left hamstring, FC Barcelona confirmed.

Although “he’s unavailable and his speedy recovery will depend on how the injury evolves,” according to the club’s medical report, there is hope within the squad. Moreover, the player also feels that he could make a comeback in a month.

Robert Lewandowski is ruled out for a long period of time

The setback occurred during the October international break game. In Poland‘s World Cup qualifying match against Lithuania, the Barcelona striker scored but left the game in discomfort.

His attempt to regain his place in the club’s starting eleven, where Ferran Torres and Marcus Rashford have been more noticeable early in the season, has been hampered by an injury at the age of 37.

Due to his injury, Robert Lewandowski will not play in any of the forthcoming LaLiga and European games, including the October 26’s El Clásico matchup against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu. Depending on how well he recovers, he might miss six to eight games overall.

Other Barcelona injury update

With Marc-André ter Stegen, Gavi, Joan García, and Dani Olmo also out, Barça now have a worrying injury list. As one of the most difficult parts of the season draws near, the team has been hampered by injuries.

Hansi Flick has to reconsider his offensive strategy without his star scorer. His only natural offensive options at the moment are youthful Roony Bardghji, Ferran Torres, who returned after a minor muscle injury, and Marcus Rashford.

Raphinha has not yet returned to full training, which adds to the uncertainty, but Lamine Yamal appears prepared to play against Girona. Fermín López is back and ready, while Dani Olmo will be out for another two to three weeks. If the German coach does not want his No. 9’s absence to be too noticeable, he will have to rapidly rearrange his choices.
