Barcelona starlet Fermin Lopez suffers injury while with U21 Spain: Report

Lopez joins other Barca stars on the injury list.
Barcelona’s injury plight has continued to grow. Their star midfielder Fermin Lopez has suffered a fresh injury while with the U-21 Spain national team.
The midfielder enjoyed an excellent breakthrough last season and became a first-team regular. Lopez further solidified his position as one of the most talented midfielders who boasts excellent goalscoring prowess.
The Barca academy player led Spain to a gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics. He was also the top scorer of the team. However, he was not picked for Spain’s senior team for the international break. It led to him being named in the Under-21 squad by Santi Denia, along with another Barcelona starlet, Pau Cubarsi.
Now Fermin Lopez will have to miss the international games in this September break. Reports confirm that he has picked up a fibrillar tear, although a concrete update will emerge once MRI scans are done.
Further clarifications say that the injury is not serious and his return timeline should be after a month. Nonetheless this a bad news for his club as they have already dealt with many injuries before the start of the new season. They are without as many as six players.
One positive news is that Hansi Flick will have Ansu Fati and Frenkie de Jong after the end of the international break. Both are on their way to gain full fitness.
Besides that Barcelona have started the new season in a solid way, winning all four LaLiga games. Their last match before the international break saw the club score seven goals against Valladolid.
In a positive way despite the club’s inability to buy new players and the fact that half of the team is made up of academy graduates, Flick has demonstrated that he is the perfect coach. He is swiftly putting his theory into practice and elevating Barcelona to the top level.
They are top of the league while their rivals Real Madrid are four points behind them. Flick will hope that his side continues with this momentum once the international break is over.
