Meanwhile, other teams they will face will be facing are Atalanta, Benfica, Young Boys, Crvena Zvezda, Brest, Borussia Dortmund and AS Monaco. It’s a pretty decent set of fixtures for Barcelona. They should not have difficulty in making their way to the round of 16.
The Spanish club will play four home games and four away matches. They will take on Bayern at home under new head coach Hansi Flick.
The new Champions League format further explains that the first eight teams will get a nod to the last 16 while from nine to 24 positions teams will participate in play-offs in order to secure the last 16 spot.
Meanwhile, those teams who finish below 24 onwards will be instantly eliminated. They also won’t be demoted to the Europa League. For Barcelona, they have many easy games to secure their place in the round of 16.
