The full-back’s license has been suspended by the officials for a month.
Alphonso Davies, a star of Bayern Munich, was caught driving drunk in his 216,000 Euros worth Lamborghini Urus early on Thursday morning, according to Munich police. The German media outlet Bild released the information and added that it occurred around 2:15 a.m. following a number of suspicious gestures.
When the football player was stopped by German officials and they intervened, they smelled alcohol off him. As a result, they had him undergo a breathalyzer test, and he passed positive with 0.6 grams of alcohol per litre of breathed air. The football player wasn’t in the right condition to drive, so his friend, who could drive safely, was asked to drive the car instead.
Speaking to Dr. Gennaro Festa, a criminal lawyer who specializes in these types of cases, the German media said that the football player’s actions were an infraction rather than a crime because the criminal punishment would be 0.8 grams.
Davies’ driving license, which hadn’t been confiscated at the time, would be suspended for one month and he would be fined 500 euros.
Any off-field problems can have a big impact on team cohesion and public perception, even though the club’s hierarchy have kept quiet about the situation, citing privacy restrictions.
One of the most well-known football teams in the world, Bayern Munich, demand that its players maintain high standards both on and off the field.
After the event, Alphonso Davies apparently exhibited no indications of discomfort when he arrived at the training session. He drove himself to the practice and continued to participate as usual, raising concerns about how the organization would handle this going ahead.
Football players, especially those who become famous because of their skills, are frequently subjected to greater scrutiny and pressure. For young sportsmen, particularly one as talented as Davies, the conflict, culture, fame, and accountability can be extremely taxing.
Since joining Bayern Munich from the Vancouver Whitecaps, the Canadian international has been essential and is seen as one of the team’s undisputed stars.
