Belgium begin their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign with a Group G clash against Egypt at Lumen Field on June 15. The Red Devils, who are ninth in the FIFA men’s rankings, will look to shed the tag of perennial dark horses and make a serious push for their maiden World Cup title in this year’s expanded 48-team edition.
The Belgian side secured their place in the North American football fiesta by topping their European qualifying group. Rudi Garcia’s men also won three of their four warm-up friendly matches, including a 5-0 battering of Tunisia in their last outing before jetting off to the United States.
Despite the departure of many of their ‘golden generation’, the 1980 Euro finalists have named a strong roster for the ongoing World Cup. Facing a strong Egypt side, Les Diables Rouges will look to get a positive start, with matches against Iran and New Zealand to follow in the group stage.

Veteran full-back Thomas Meunier starts at right-back, with Fulham’s Timothy Castagne moving to the left.
Aston Villa teammates Amadou Onana and Youri Tielemans form the two-man midfield pivot, with the legendary Kevin De Bruyne in front of them. Premier League rivals Leandro Trossard and Jeremy Doku start on either flank.
Up front, Atalanta striker Charles De Ketelaere starts as the lone forward, with Romelu Lukaku an option off the bench.
