Bournemouth vs Aston Villa Preview, prediction, lineups, betting tips & odds | Premier League 2024-25

The Cherries will take on Villa on matchday 36 in the Premier League
AFC Bournemouth look to keep up their push to secure a possible European spot in the Premier League when they host Unai Emery’s Aston Villa at the Vitality Stadium. Iraola’s men will be disappointed not to get wins in the last few games, as they have dropped crucial points which could have helped them to jump positions in the table.
In 35 games, the Cherries have won 14 matches, drawn 11 and lost 10 games. With 53 points on the table, they are sitting in the eighth spot in the Premier League. Their dream of getting a European competition slot is looking a bit difficult. They will look to use thier home advantage to beat a strong Villa side.
Villa’s performance away from home has been poor, and they suffered two defeats in the last five games, which has impacted their position in the table. In 35 games, they won 17 matches, drew nine and lost nine games. With 60 points on the table, they are seventh in the points table.
Their dream of getting a Champions League spot is still alive, and surely they will be hungry to get it in the upcoming games. Emery’s men will have to be at their best to get a win against Cherries away from home.

Players to Watch
Dean Huijsen (Bournemouth)
Huijsen stands tall at 195cm, his build is skinny even in his legs, in terms of acceleration, he can close down gaps quickly, and when he gets going, he’s tough to shake off the ball. With the ball, Huijsen has some qualities that make him a desirable addition to any system. He’s completely two-footed, in terms of line-breaking passes, long balls, tackles, he can do it all with both feet.
He’s shown an ability to play all kinds of passes, be it chipped passes to the midfielder or fullback, crossfield pings or quick short passes under pressure. The Spaniard is great at carrying the ball and helps his team move forward quickly. He has played 29 games in which he scored three goals and provided one assist, also he has received eight yellow cards so far.
Pau Torres (Aston Villa)
Standing at 191cm, Torres has an athlete’s body. Tall players have the reputation of being slow, but this is not the case for him. With the ball, he is very comfortable on the pitch and is able to help his team build up the play from the back neatly. Just like many other Spanish centre-backs, he doesn’t crumble under pressure and is able to go past players carrying the ball into the midfield.
His reading of the game is top-notch as he is able to position himself very well and is always able to mark opponents very well on the pitch. This season, he has played 30 games, in which he provided two assists and got only two yellow cards.
