Carlo Ancelotti has announced Brazil’s preliminary 55-man squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026, with a surprise call-up. Forward Neymar has been included in the initial roster ahead of the competition.
However, the 34-year-old’s place in the final squad still remains uncertain despite making the preliminary roster. Another surprise call-up has been Thiago Silva.
The centre-back for FC Porto last appeared for the national team on December 9, 2022, in the 2022 FIFA World Cup quarter-final against Croatia.
However, similar to Neymar, his name on the final squad is up in the air. Ancelotti is set to announce the 25-man squad before the World Cup on May 18.
Plenty of names will be trimmed down as Ancelotti is set to make a crucial decision in order to select the final players for the Brazil World Cup squad.
