Brazil head coach, Carlo Ancelotti is all set to name the squad for the upcoming friendlies in the FIFA September-October international window. The Seleção will first play two international friendlies against Australia before flying to India to play the Blue Tigers on October 3rd at the VYBK Stadium, Kolkata.
This marks a transition phase for the Brazilian team after their Round of 16 exit in the FIFA World Cup 2026 against Norway and it is expected that Carlo Ancelotti will name talented youngsters in the squad as they begin their preparations for the upcoming Copa America and FIFA World Cup 2030.
The Seleção will reveal their 26-man squad on Wednesday, September 9, at 11:30 PM IST. The announcement will take place at the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. Indian fans can watch the announcement live on CBF TV’s official YouTube channel.

However, this is expected to be combined with current Brazil stars like Vinicius Junior, Raphinha, Matheus Cunha, etc. So, it is not expected to be an entirely new squad, but rather a combination of young Brazilian talents and current stars, with some new faces also expected in the squad.
“With these three friendlies, we will start the new cycle to project the Seleção in the objectives of the coming years, which are the 2028 Copa America and the 2030 World Cup. We will take advantage of the three friendlies to call up new players for the national team, especially young players, who can show their talent in the national team in the coming years,” said Carlo Ancelotti speaking to the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF).
“The integration with the youth categories and the evaluation of the work in the Under-15, Under-17 and Under-20 are very important. We have to take into account that, four years ago, Rayan played in the U-17, which was a very important player. We have to have a good connection with the U-20, also take advantage of the preparation for the next Olympics, in which many players can, in theory, be in the 2030 World Cup,” he added.
