Cameroon announce squad for March international break; Andre Onana included

The Indomitable Lions will face Eswatini and Libya in the qualifiers.
As the Indomitable Lions get ready for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Eswatini and Libya this month, Cameroon manager Marc Brys has given Dany Namaso and Nathan Ngoumou their first call-ups.
Both attackers have made an impression at the club level, with Ngoumou (Borussia Mönchengladbach) contributing in the Bundesliga and Namaso (Porto) dominating in Portugal’s Primeira Liga.
Their choice reflects Brys’ wish to increase his offensive options as Cameroon look to maintain their lead in Group D using games against Libya in Yaoundé on March 25 and Eswatini in Nelspruit on March 19.
André-Franck Zambo Anguissa’s presence is another important talking point. The Napoli midfielder, who was first questioned about his fitness, has made the final roster and is anticipated to be a key member of Cameroon’s midfield.
As the national team gets ready for two important games, his presence is a huge help. Joyskim Dawa and Ignatius Ganago both return to the squad.
Ganago, a talented forward, last played for Cameroon in 2023, while Dawa, a strong defensive presence, hasn’t been called up since September 2021.
Brys has chosen a different goalkeeping selection, leaving out Ondoa, a vital component of past national team lineups.
Cameroon, who are at the top of Group D in the CAF World Cup qualifiers, will be looking to solidify their position by defeating Libya and Eswatini.
The Insurmountable Lions will try to make a significant move toward guaranteeing a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup with four points from two games.
