João Pedro played for Brighton & Hove Albion during the 2024-25 season and as per multiple reports, he is set to join Chelsea. The 23-year-old Brazilian forward has also been spotted in the United States of America, where the current edition of the Club World Cup is taking place.
The English Premier League side Chelsea will continue to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season. They have already signed Liam Delap from Ipswich Town before the beginning of the mega tournament. The Blues are still in the market hunting for more players who will be suitable for their squad under Enzo Maresca.
There are a decent number of reports that say João Pedro has also successfully passed his Chelsea medical and will soon sign a seven-year deal. The Blues will pay around £55m-£60m for the 23-year-old forward. There are many things which are still unclear regarding the signing of the Brighton star.

Chelsea are yet to officially announce the signing of João Pedro, despite multiple reports confirming the transfer. He will be an important addition to the squad as he will fit under the strategies planned by Enzo Maresca due to his versatility in the final third.
Chelsea will be able to add Pedro to their Club World Cup squad as long as he is registered by July 3. Reportedly, Chelsea are fast-tracking the registration process and are likely to make Pedro a part of their squad for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final against Palmeiras.
João Pedro scored 10 goals and came up with six assists during his 2024-25 Premier League campaign with the Seagulls. He did well during his recent campaign and will be a big addition for the Blues as they are aiming for a big prize in the Club World Cup.
The 23-year-old might make his Chelsea debut in the mega competition. If the registration process is completed in time, then the Chelsea fans will be able to see how Maresca’s system is going to work.

João Pedro came in as a top target as the Blues are looking to invest in long-term plans, which will be fit for Maresca’s system. They have been looking at other options as well, like Jamie Gittens of Borussia Dortmund. The club are reportedly in advanced talks to sign the English youngster.
