The Selecao have dealt with another major injury blow.

Brazil’s convincing 3-0 victory over Haiti at the FIFA World Cup 2026 came with an unwanted setback after star winger Raphinha was forced off with an apparent hamstring problem before the break.

While the five-time world champions climbed to the top of their group, the injury to one of their most influential attackers has raised concerns ahead of their final group-stage clash against Scotland.

The Barcelona forward appeared to be in discomfort late in the first half and received treatment on the pitch before being substituted. A visibly frustrated Raphinha walked off after speaking with the medical staff, with youngster Rayan replacing him for only his third senior appearance for Brazil.

Following the match, head coach Carlo Ancelotti admitted that the extent of the injury is still unclear and confirmed that further assessments will determine the severity of the issue.

Ancelotti revealed that Brazil’s medical team will carry out additional tests before providing a clearer diagnosis.

“We will evaluate Raphinha tomorrow. Right now we’re not sure what happened.”

The Brazilian Football Confederation also issued a statement confirming that the winger experienced discomfort in his right hamstring.

“Raphinha felt pain in his right hamstring during the first half of the match against Haiti. The player has begun treatment and will be re-evaluated. We will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.”

Teammate Vinicius Junior also expressed his concern after the game, hoping the injury would not force the Barcelona star to miss the remainder of the tournament.

“It’s a shame that Rapha had to leave the game due to an injury. I think it’s the same one he had last time. I hope it’s not serious so he can stay with us.”

Neymar set to return against Scotland

While Brazil await news on Raphinha, there was encouraging information regarding Neymar’s recovery. The veteran forward has missed the opening two matches after suffering a calf problem late in the club season, but Ancelotti expects him to rejoin the squad soon.

“Neymar will train tomorrow on his own and then we’ll integrate him in the team and he will be available for Scotland.”

A fit-again Neymar would provide a timely boost if Raphinha is ruled out, giving Brazil another experienced attacking option as they look to finish the group stage strongly and carry momentum into the knockout rounds.
