The Blues’ forward has suffered a new injury.

Cole Palmer of Chelsea will miss another week of action after he fractured his toe by stubbing on a door on Wednesday night.

After missing two months due to a groin injury, the England attacker was scheduled to return to first-team training this week. However, the 23-year-old’s injury to his preferred left foot’s tiny toe will keep him out for a little while longer.

He will be out of the Blues’ next three games: the Champions League meeting against Barcelona on Tuesday, the Premier League encounter against Burnley on Saturday, and the home fixture against Arsenal the following weekend.

“He is probably not available for Saturday for sure, Barcelona for sure or Arsenal for sure,” said Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.

“Unfortunately, he had an accident at home where he hit his toe. It is nothing important, but he won’t be back in the next week. I wake up many times during the night – I hit my head, my legs, my everything – so it can happen.”

Cole Palmer most recently played in Chelsea’s 2-1 loss to Manchester United on September 20. Since then, the Blues have participated in 11 games across all competitions, winning eight and losing two. They are now ranked third in the Premier League standings.

Other Chelsea injury update

Benoit Badiashile, Pedro Neto, and Enzo Fernandez are all ready to make the trip to Turf Moor.

Maresca acknowledged that nothing has changed with Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi, who are part of the Blues’ so-called “bomb squad.” Considering the defender’s participation with the Under-21s and first-team training over the international break:

“Axel and Raheem are Chelsea players,” he said. “Axel is helping the second team, he’s helping the younger players.”

“During the international break we had just five, six players here, so we needed some second-team players. Axel was part of some sessions with second-team players, but I think it was just one session with us.”

How many games will Cole Palmer miss?

He will miss the Burnley, FC Barcelona and Arsenal clash.

When will he return?

His return timeline has not been revealed by Maresca.

Where do Chelsea stand in the table?
