Enzo Maresca has provided an update on Chelsea’s injury list. The Blues will travel to Manchester on Saturday night to play Ruben Amorim’s team at Old Trafford in an attempt to go back to winning ways.

After acknowledging that they had “some doubts” about a few players, Enzo Maresca said during his pre-game media briefing that he will need to evaluate the players before the weekend.

Enzo Maresca reveals Cole Palmer’s fitness status

When the Italian manager was initially questioned about Cole Palmer’s fitness after his recent injury comeback, Enzo Maresca responded that the forward is doing well after Wednesday’s match.

“Yes, Cole is okay,” Maresca confirmed at his pre-match press conference.

“We have a training session now where we will look at the players. We flew back yesterday [from Munich], so we need to assess some of the guys before we make a decision for the weekend.

“We haven’t had a session since the game on Wednesday, we have some doubts but we will see after today’s training session.”

Guiu was named in the squad ahead of the United game

Marc Guiu, a Spaniard who was brought back early from his loan stint at Sunderland at the start of this month due to Liam Delap’s injury, is one player who might be included in the matchday squad.

Maresca acknowledged that he was in his thoughts as a potential option for the attack moving forward when asked about the striker’s status at the club.

“Marc Guiu is back and the reason why he is back is because we intend to use him,” added the Italian head coach.

“He is a good player and while he needs to do things better and can still improve, we know what Marc can offer us. For sure, we are going to use him.”

“Ale Garnacho vs Man United? I think he’s ready to start. In the last two games, he was inside very good. We are happy in the way he is adapting to our style.”
