The midfielder will miss two crucial matches for the Blues.
Manager Liam Rosenior has stated that he has decided to drop Enzo Fernandez for the next two games following his recent comments.
Speaking during the international break, vice-captain Enzo Fernandez raised serious concerns about his future with the Blues amid links to Real Madrid.
When asked if he could call Madrid home, the 25-year-old said, “Yes, of course.”
This comes after their 8-2 aggregate loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League and a critical evaluation of the club’s recent choices.
The midfield player, who cost Chelsea £106.8 million in 2023, has now been officially sanctioned by the team, according to head coach Rosenior.
Rosenior reveals why he dropped Enzo Fernandez for the next two matches

As sixth-place Chelsea battle to salvage their season, Enzo Fernandez will miss the FA Cup visit from Port Vale on Saturday and the Premier League match against Manchester City.
“I spoke with Enzo an hour ago. As a football club, with me as part of that process, we’ve made a decision. He won’t be available for tomorrow’s games, and he won’t be available for Manchester City next Sunday.
“I think for Enzo, It’s disappointing to speak in that way. What I will say about Enzo is, in terms of him as a character, as a person, I’ve got no bad words to say about him.
“But I think a line was crossed, in terms of our culture and what we want to build. So, we had to make a sanction, and that was a decision we’ve made.”
This could be a major fallout between the manager and Fernandez and could also prompt his move away from the Blues. The midfielder’s comments have been in bad taste, but the head coach dropping him for the games could turn out to be the final nail in the coffin.
Which games will Enzo Fernandez miss?
He will miss the FA Cup game against Port Vale and then the PL game against Manchester City.
