Chelsea vs Celtic Predicted lineup, betting tips, odds, injury news, H2H, telecast | Pre-season friendlies 2024
The Blues kicked off the new era with a draw against Wrexham.
Chelsea began their new era under Enzo Maresca with a 2-2 draw against Wrexham in their first friendly game. After putting on a dominant display in the first half, the Blues had to come from behind to draw the match.
Two teams at either half have made life difficult for them in the second half as they failed to get the gameâs grip. However, they showed a fighting spirit and came from behind. Enzo Maresca will be glad from what he saw from his squad who are adjusting to his style of play.
Celtic have been rampant in the last three matches after securing some impressive victories on the route. After drawing against Ayr United in the first preseason game, Brendan Rodgersâs side havenât looked back since.
The Hoops secured a thrilling 6-4 win over Championship side QPR in the second game followed by a 4-0 thrashing of MLS outfit DC United and registering an impressive 4-3 win against Manchester City in the last match.

Players to Watch
Christopher Nkunku (Chelsea)
It was a difficult debut season for Nkunku last year after missing much of the campaign through injuries. However, he is now back to his brilliant best having netted the opening goal for the team in the last match. Nkunku showed his poacher instinct by dispatching the rebound ball into the net. His linkup play was brilliant against Wrexham as he showed flashes of his brilliance.
Nicolas Kuhn (Celtic)
Nicolas Kuhn put on a stellar display against Manchester City in the last match by scoring a brace in the first half. Two goals were a carbon copy of each other with Kuhn placing a left-footed strike in the bottom corner. It was a testament to the quality he brings into this Celtic side with his pace and directness in front of the goal making him a dangerous weapon in the final third.

Injury & Team News
Enzo Maresca made full use of his bench strength in his first outing as a Chelsea Manager to give everyone an equal chance to show why they deserve to be in the starting eleven. Summer signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will be eager to make an impact in this match after missing the last match due to a knock he suffered.
Meanwhile, Celtic will likely field the same eleven that took the field against Manchester City. Branden Rodgersâ team put on a stellar display to outperform the English giants in that match. We expect them to cause another trouble to Chelsea who are in the adaptation period under their new coach.
Head-to-Head
Chelsea and Celtic have not faced each other since 2004. Their last outing resulted in Chelsea securing a 4-2 win over them.

Match Prediction for â Chelsea vs Celtic
Chelsea had a positive first outing under Enzo Maresca in their first friendly. Celtic on the other hand have impressed everyone with their preseason display after playing a thriller to defeat reigning champions Manchester City in their last friendly. With the Blues looking shaky at the back, we expect another nail-biting end-to-end game here with both teams displaying their attacking prowess.
Prediction: â Chelsea 3-3 Celtic
