Top three clubs Joshua Kimmich can join this summer

The midfielder’s contract talks with Bayern Munich have stalled.
Joshua Kimmich, whose current contract with Bayern Munich expires at the end of the current campaign, has apparently had the offer to extend his contract withdrawn by the club following the team’s board meeting.
Since joining Bayern from Leipzig in 2015 at the age of 20, the 30-year-old midfielder has been a mainstay, making over 400 games. He currently receives an estimated €20m (about $21 million) a year from the club.
It has been claimed that Bayern have opted to withdraw their offer to extend Kimmich’s contract with them, which will be good news for clubs interested in signing him. We look at three teams that can acquire the midfield player for free in the summer.
3. Barcelona
The latest news about Joshua Kimmich will give Barcelona hope that they may sign the midfield player for nothing.
Although Kimmich has shown interest in joining Barcelona in the past, and the Bayern star has long been linked to the club, the latest rumors indicate Deco no longer wants the 30-year-old.
According to the sporting director, Barca already have a strong midfield, and they are instead looking to sign a versatile full-back in the summer. But given the quality of the Bayern midfielder one can never overlook him so easily, and we never know what the LaLiga team may end up doing.
2. Liverpool
One of the teams attempting to sign Joshua Kimmich, a midfielder for Bayern Munich, on a free transfer are Liverpool.
It’s easy to understand why LFC could be intrigued to try their luck with Kimmich, given that he could be available on a free transfer if he doesn’t extend his deal with Bayern, even though they aren’t exactly in dire need of fresh midfield players.
Behind players like Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, Kimmich may offer the Liverpool midfield a bit of versatility and winning know-how, providing Arne Slot additional squad strength.
1. Manchester City
It is not a surprise that Manchester City are still interested in him. He was a player for Pep Guardiola during the Spaniard’s final season as head coach of Bayern, and the two do share a close bond. The two could perhaps get back together in the upcoming months if the German star fails to renew his deal with Bayern.
Pep Guardiola’s team is reportedly aiming to add more midfield alternatives this summer, along with a new right-back, despite investing £49.8 million on Nico Gonzalez during the January transfer window.
Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Mateo Kovacic, and Matheus Nunes all have uncertain futures, and Ilkay Gundgoan is also anticipated to depart the Etihad.
