Top five clubs Raheem Sterling can join after leaving Chelsea by mutual consent

Sterling is currently a free agent.
It’s finally over: Raheem Sterling is no longer a Chelsea player. Sterling, 31, has seen his £325,000-a-week contract revoked by mutual consent and is free to join a new team.
A loan stint at Arsenal swiftly restored the forward’s prominence after he was initially frozen out in August 2024.
But the club’s attitude remained unchanged when he returned to Chelsea last summer, so he started working out with their “bomb squad.” The Blues arranged loan agreements with both Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen, giving Sterling opportunities to depart in the summer.
However, the former Liverpool player desires to stay in London and be near his family. We have ranked the five clubs that Raheem Sterling may join now that his nightmare at Stamford Bridge is finished.
Fulham

To further their European aspirations, Fulham, Chelsea’s nearest neighbours, would benefit from a great acquisition like Sterling. Over the previous two seasons, Marco Silva’s team has largely been the same, and stability has paid dividends.
The Cottagers have every opportunity of making it to either the Conference League or the Europa League for next season. The phrase “Champions League contenders” is even being mentioned. Raheem Sterling would particularly replace Adama Traore, who has joined West Ham, and provide a wealth of experience from playing in Europe.
Crystal Palace
For Crystal Palace, January has been a forgettable month. The Eagles need anything to get back on track after a humiliating FA Cup loss, the transfer of captain Marc Guehi, manager Oliver Glasner doing his dirty laundry in public, and no Premier League victories.
So what about sterling? Although Palace have already added Brennan Johnson to strengthen their attack, the 31-year-old would undoubtedly increase Glasner’s team’s chances of escaping relegation, as they are now eight points above the drop zone.
West Ham
West Ham are heavily involved in relation to the relegation struggle. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team has improved their chances of surviving with back-to-back victories, but they are still in 18th place and face the possibility of getting relegated from the Premier League for the first time since 2011.
Raheem Sterling would link with Callum Wilson, a former England teammate, and add depth to a front line that is beginning to show promise. Compared to Palace and Fulham’s finances, West Ham’s willingness to spend money in recent years may make his possible pay demands less of an issue.
Brentford
Raheem Sterling was at the pinnacle of his game in 2021 when Brentford were promoted to the top division. A staple for both England and Manchester City, you would have been ridiculed if you had predicted that, just five years later, the Bees would be in the running to sign Sterling for free.
The recruitment of Jordan Henderson, another of Raheem Sterling’s old England friends, indicates that Keith Andrews’ team are not afraid to bring in an experienced talent who is over 30, even though the four-time Premier League winner may not be a model Brentford signing.
Newcastle
In order to make a less likely move, we finally leave London and travel all the way up to Newcastle. Eddie Howe’s team are also having trouble scoring goals, and they are once again overexhausting their roster by competing on multiple fronts.
The Magpies may advance to the Champions League round of 16 if they defeat Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday. They are currently in the Carabao Cup semifinals and the FA Cup fourth round. With Raheem Sterling’s inclusion, they would have the necessary background to compete in a wide range of events.
Which club should Raheem Sterling join?
He might prefer a Champions League side, and among the above-mentioned teams, only Newcastle are playing in the competition.
