Cole Palmer is set to be on the sidelines for a month now.
According to sources, talismanic Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer won’t be able to play again until November due to a groin injury.
On September 20, Palmer was substituted early in the team’s 2-1 loss to Manchester United due to a persistent problem that had been plaguing him for a while.
In the days that followed, manager Enzo Maresca acknowledged that the 23-year-old needed “protecting” from an ever-increasing workload, which included playing in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup this summer.
Although Maresca has often declined to provide a specific timeframe for Palmer’s comeback, he did express in late September his desire to see him play right away following the October international break.
Cole Palmer is ruled out for a long period of time
Nevertheless, a meeting at Chelsea have determined that Cole Palmer will not be fit enough to return until November. It is unclear exactly when he will set foot on the field once more.
Cole Palmer, who is considered one of the top players in his position, will miss the matches against Nottingham Forest and Sunderland, a trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup fourth phase, and a Champions League matchup with Dutch powerhouse Ajax.
Palmer’s absence is a clear setback for Chelsea, who are also attempting to manage a defence that has descended into a full-blown injury crisis.
Chelsea’s injury crisis continue
Wesley Fofana and Tosin Adarabioyo were not included in last weekend’s exciting late victory over Liverpool at Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile, Levi Colwill will be out for a lengthy time due to an ACL tear.
After that, Reece James was pulled from England’s international duty after reporting to camp with an injury, while Josh Acheampong and Benoît Badiashile were unable to play the entire ninety minutes against Arne Slot’s side.
How long will Palmer be out?
He is set to be out till November.
Has coach Enzo Maresca provided the forward’s return timeline?
He said Palmer should return after the October international break.
Which players are out injured for Chelsea?
Apart from Palmer, the team will have to deal with the absences of Wesley Fofana, Tosin Adarabioyo, Levi Colwill, Reece James, Josh Acheampong and Benoît Badiashile.
