James Rodriguez has been named in the provisional roster.
Colombia have emerged as one of CONMEBOL’s most formidable national teams. Despite a period of poor performance, head coach Něor Lorenzo was able to turn things around and secure their place in the 2026 World Cup.
They have revealed their 55-man preliminary squad following strong performances in recent friendlies, with Luis Diaz and James Rodriguez leading the way despite having little playing time.
Colombia have not surprised anyone with their preliminary roster, unlike Brazil or Argentina. They have continuously retained every player who has participated in the national team process. It even includes Yerry Mina, Kevin Castaño, and David Ospina, who aren’t playing at their best right now.
Juan Guillermo Cuadrado has already participated in multiple national team camps without being called up. But because of his performance for Pisa, he has been included once more.
Lorenzo now has the challenging task of reducing this group to the official roster in preparation for the competition in North America.
