Colombia starting lineup vs Portugal confirmed for FIFA World Cup 2026 match

Colombia will face Portugal for the first time at the FIFA World Cup.

Colombia are currently sitting at the top spot in Group K with a perfect record of two wins in two games. Los Cafeteros are looking crisp and ready for the big clash against Portugal at the Miami Stadium in Florida on Saturday, June 27, at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Los Cafeteros started their World Cup campaign with a 3-1 victory over tournament debutants Uzbekistan. After a slow first half, Los Cafeteros accelerated in the other 45 minutes of the game. They used a rather aggressive approach and made their intent to win the game clear.

In the second game, they clashed with the Democratic Republic of Congo, which returned to the global tournament after 52 long years. DR Congo adopted a disciplined defensive approach against Los Cafeteros; however, Daniel Muñoz found a small lapse and scored the only goal of the match, helping the South American side secure qualification for the knockout stage.

In the final group stage game, Néstor Lorenzo’s men are going to face their biggest challenger so far, Roberto Martinez’s Portugal, which scored five goals in their last game. Nevertheless, Colombia are expected to continue playing exciting and fearless football.

Thoughts on the lineup

Camilo Vargas will keep the gloves for Colombia, as he has only conceded one goal yet. Davinson Sánchez will also retain his spot in the line-up. Deiver Machado, Jhon Lucumí, and Santiago Arias are the other three players in the defence.

Jefferson Lerma, Gustavo Puerta, and Jhon Arias will play in the midfield, while James Rodríguez will play as the creative engine. John Córdoba and Luis Díaz will lead the goalscoring department for the South American side against Portugal.
