The 2026 World Cup ball has been confirmed.
Adidas has officially launched “Trionda,” the 2026 FIFA World Cup match ball that will be used in all 104 matches across host countries Canada, Mexico, and the United States, as excitement for the World Cup grows.
The ball’s remarkable design and technological innovation were showcased in its inaugural holographic presentation against the backdrop of the New York skyline.
Combining the words “tri” (three) and “onda” (waves), “Trionda” represents the solidarity of the three host nations. Along with national cultural symbols, the ball has a striking colour scheme: red for the US, green for Mexico, and blue for Canada.
These include the Mexican eagle, the American star, and the Canadian maple leaf, which are all engraved and printed on the ball. The recognisable FIFA World Cup trophy is referenced with gold accents.
Adidas, a German company that has supplied the official World Cup balls since the 1970 competition, created the ball, Trionda. With this in mind, we take a look at the complete list of match balls used since the tournament’s founding in 1930.
