The final two teams left and the better team between the two will win the prestigious 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup title. The competition is taking place in the United States of America and we got to see some interesting contests.
The tournament was established in 1991. A total of 16 teams began the pursuit in the Gold Cup for a special trophy. They were divided into four groups, with each group consisting of four teams. These teams started the campaign with the group stage and the top two teams from every group booked their spot for the quarterfinals.
15 of these teams are from the Concacaf region, one invited guest team was the Saudi Arabia national football team and they have already been eliminated from the tournament after losing their quarterfinal match against Mexico.
The United States men’s national soccer team and the Mexico national football team are the two finalists. Both of these teams are unbeaten in the tournament. The hosts USA, have won the Concacaf Gold Cup seven times and the record winners Mexicans, have clinched the trophy nine times.
Both Mexico and the USA have battled one another many times in the past. El Tri have an upper hand over the Yanks. They are likely to come up with another close contest. They do have quality players in the squad and we can expect a high level of football contest between the two finalists.
