The Los Blancos will return to action tonight in Copa del Rey.
Real Madrid enter this Copa del Rey match against Leganes after a painful LaLiga loss that saw Barcelona and Atletico Madrid cut the gap in the title race. Despite dominating Espanyol, Carlo Ancelotti’s team lost by a surprising 1-0 margin in the last minutes.
Their lead at the top is only one point ahead of their matchup with Atleti on Saturday.
They will, however, put their title challenge on pause in order to concentrate on tonight’s Copa del Rey match. The visitors will play Leganes in the quarterfinal of the competition and a win will see them secure a place in the semi-final.
Carlo Ancelotti will be looking to employ a different line-up for today’s game as he will rest his first-team players for Saturday’s match. Below we can see how the Italian can line up against Leganes.
Real Madrid predicted lineup vs Leganes (4-2-3-1)
Real Madrid predicted lineup (4-2-3-1): Lunin; Vazquez, Tchouameni, Asencio, Mendy; Valverde, Modric; Guler, Brahim, Vinicius; Endrick
Ancelotti is set to rest many first-team players ahead of Saturday’s clash against Atletico Madrid and many young stars could get a chance to play tonight’s games. However, the Italian coach is also without many options at the back which could see a few players playing out of position.
Young stars such as Arda Guler, Asencio and Endrick will get a chance tonight to make a big influence in the game and further prove their worth to the former Chelsea manager for future matches.
Real Madrid’s injury news
Eduardo Camavinga is expected to be absent once more after missing the previous five games due to a hamstring injury, and Real Madrid are still without Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao.
After Antonio Rudiger suffered a hamstring injury in Saturday’s loss to Espanyol, Ancelotti will have to make at least one change. The defender is anticipated to be sidelined for approximately three weeks.
Bellingham and Mbappe will not be able to play in tonight’s match, according to Ancelotti, who also stated on Tuesday that David Alaba had suffered a muscular injury.
Ancelotti might also put Raul Asencio, Ferland Mendy, Luka Modric, Arda Guler, Brahim Diaz, and Endrick in the starting lineup.
